Book Your Photo Shoot

Optimal Timing for Your Real Estate Photography Session

When scheduling a real estate photography shoot, the time of day plays a crucial role in ensuring that your property is captured in the best light. Ideally, the best time for a shoot is during midday when the sun is high in the sky. This time of day minimizes long shadows and harsh lens flare, allowing for a more even, flattering lighting across the property.

For the best results, you’ll want to ensure the front of the home is still well-lit by the sun. The exact timing can vary based on the orientation of the property:

  • East-Facing Homes: A shoot time around 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM is ideal, as the sun will be positioned overhead, providing optimal lighting for the front of the home.

  • West-Facing Homes: For homes facing west, scheduling the shoot later, around 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, works best to ensure the front of the house remains well-lit.

If you're interested in capturing the beauty of your property at sunset, the best lighting occurs 30 minutes before and after the sun sets. This "golden hour" provides warm, soft lighting that enhances the home’s exterior.

If you would like to schedule a shoot specifically to capture sunset lighting, please note it in your booking request, and we will be happy to arrange an after-hours shoot for you.

You will receive a confirmation email along with the invoice and contract for your shoot. Please note that the shoot will be canceled if the contract is not signed by the day of the shoot. To ensure the session proceeds as scheduled, kindly review, sign, and return the contract promptly.
